On the link above you will find a portfolio I have put together of aspects of my certification practicum that I am proud of. My placement was in a grade 4 class and I taught in all subject areas, developed universal designs for learning, differentiated instruction, incorporated Indigenous learning/worldviews, organized a field trip, became involved in the Student Advisory Council and Battle of the Books, and built strong connections with students, staff, and admin within the school community! It was an incredible experience.
In addition to my certification practicum, I completed other practicums in grades 5/6 as well as Kindergarten. Prior to beginning my Bachelor of Education, I volunteered in a grade 1/2 class. All of these incredible experiences have helped me recognize the importance of connecting with students, adapting to different learning needs and capabilities, celebrating differences, and making learning fun, hands-on, and experiential! I will continue my journey as a teacher who promotes compassion, celebrates diversity, and strives for inclusiveness.
